Bloodline Trusts
Consider Including Bloodline Trusts in Your Wills
Scenario: Bob & Ann thought they had planned well, they had made Wills but only BASIC WILLS.
After Bob & Ann died their daughter SUSAN inherited the house and savings worth just over £400,000.
What happened next? SUSAN’S husband wanted a divorce, and he ended up with £200,000 of Bob & Ann’s hard-earned money they expected one day SUSAN’S children (their grandchildren) would benefit from.
SUSAN’S husband remarried and spent all that £200,000 on his new wife (The Bimbo) and her three children!
You would assume that having left everything to your children your estate would then pass down to your grandchildren. But if you read a Standard Will closely, you’ll see that your grandchildren will normally only inherit if their mother or father dies before them. Your grandchildren may, in fact, get nothing!
If Bob & Ann had made WILLS including a Bloodline Trust all the
£400,000 they left would have been protected for SUSAN and her children.
